Art Noise returned to the Sidewinder for its second Pint Size event. This time the pint has been mixed up and the cocktail inside is one of gritty beats and gripping imagery. The Dirty Pint will show Brighton in its raw unpolished beauty, with images from our excellent exhibitors showing the city has razor sharp teeth within that bright gleaming smile. Art, photography and design will be brought together to show this underbelly and at 10pm DJ’s Mike and Stewart Noise will bring turntablism and controllerism together for a special 1 hour hip-hop mix of sampling and scratching to ensure the grit gets clogged in your ears too. This will all be washed down with their usual blend of soul, jazz, electro swing and funk, and the amazingly relaxed atmosphere of the pub should make it a night to enjoy.
What to expect:
- Art with an edge to it
- Gritty photography of Brighton streets and people
- Hip-Hop, scratching and sampling from 2 of Brighton’s best DJ’s.
- A relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
- Soulful grooves, jazz solos, and funky basslines
- Conversations about how you want to get back into ‘that artistic thing you always used to do but haven’t got the time to anymore.’

Show Programme
9pm- Mike Davy opens up the first hour with a blend of soul, jazz and Latin sounds. In the corner (near the N64) you can look at the work projected on the wall from all the local exhibitors taking part, from here onwards it will be on a loop all night for you to enjoy.
10pm- MIKE DAVY AND STEWART NOISE TURTABLISM VS. CONTROLLERISM 1-HOUR BATTLE MIX.
11pm- Special Guest DJ Set (TBC)
12pm- Stewart Noise closes the night with a chilled out mix that spans multiple genres. If you have a request now (and only now) is an acceptable time to ask.
1am- We pack down and head to the nearest after party.

Submission Guide
Want to take part and submit some art, photographs or illustrations to Art Noise? Follow these simple steps:
- Choose up to 7 images that you wish to exhibit. You MUST own copyright to the images (obviously). The theme is OPTIONAL so if you don’t have something that fits the theme then feel free just to pick some of your favourite work to display.
- Compress the images down. They do not need to be huge file sizes, and a resolution of 1024×768 is more than good enough for displaying on the projector at the venue. You may wish to add a watermark or signature so people know it’s you who created the images.
- Rename each image so it starts with your name, this ensures all your images display together.
- Send the images to info@vjstupid.com along with your name.
- Turn up on the night and receive special drinks deals for taking part and 10% off food (before 9:30pm).
