Are you ready to dance Brighton? You better be, because Lakuta are in town. If you’ve ever been to one of their shows you will know it’s impossible to resist nodding your head, tapping your feet and then breaking out your finest repertoire of moves, they are just that infectious. Don’t believe me? Check out the track at the bottom of this article and try to tell me you don’t agree.
Oh and did you know they’ve got a new EP out now? The “Rice & Peace EP” is the next instalment of high-quality electronic, hip hop and Afrobeat rhythms from the talented Lakuta to be released on Tru Thoughts. Since releasing “Bata Boy” and their standout ‘Brothers & Sisters’ LP (produced by Nick Faber) earlier this year, Lakuta have created an uproar; with reviews in The Guardian, The Independent, Blues & Soul and Songlines. Boasting radio spins from Lauren Laverne, Julie Adenuga, Alex Lester; praise from Basement Jaxx’s Felix Buxton, Bobbito & Laurent Garnier; and an interview on Bandcamp Weekly Radio.
